Andy was over my metal and plastic door hangers scratching up our front door, so I had to figure out an alternative method to hang my wreaths.
The answer was so simple, it was almost embarrassing I didn’t think of it before, but string! Or twine. Or ribbon, or even fishing line. Anything you can loop through and tie will work, as long as it is thin enough so that you can shut your door securely.
The trick is to hang something on both sides of your door using string – or anything else you can think of. I usually buy two of the same wreaths, but as long as the items weigh approximately the same, the hack work will work. Similarly to how people carry ice skates over their shoulder, the string doesn’t damage your door at the top, but the items counterbalance each other so there’s no need for additional hooks or adhesives.
For my fall wreaths, I started with fishing line because I like the illusion of the wreaths floating on the door, but then I found a piece of twine I used instead.

What a fantastic idea ❤️
I felt like it was so simple, everyone must know this tip, but then I figured if I didn’t, maybe I wasn’t alone. Haha
