One of our family’s favorite dishes is pierogies. They are classic comfort food for any occasion, but every Easter, Andy’s grandma always served authentic pierogies made and sold by a Polish woman in a neighboring small town. The woman sadly passed away a few years ago, so I took it upon myself to learn how to make pierogies so our family tradition would continue.
After testing a few different recipes, I found the perfect combination to make our family favorites: potato, sweet cheese, and blueberry

For the blueberry pierogies, fill the dough with about four blueberries and top with butter and sugar after they’re cooked. We also like to mix the sweet farmer’s cheese filling with blueberries for a blueberry cheesecake style pierogi. Blueberries not your thing? Any fruit will work.
