One of my favorite fall decorating tips is to use faux pumpkins. Some can be an investment, but going to the pumpkin patch these days is usually not much cheaper. With “permanent” pumpkins, you can use them multiple seasons, adding to your collection every year with the money you might have spent on the real deal that also will really rot away.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the whole experience of going to the pumpkin patch. The colors, the varieties, hauling around a rusted out, classic Radio Flyer wagon, taking the obligatory photos, and most importantly, supporting the local farmers. I still make a point to go every year as part of my fall bucket list, but I mix my real and faux pumpkins to achieve my ultimate fall decor looks.
